As the name suggests, any material or natural substance that
can be resourced for economic needs is titled as a natural resource. Natural
resources occur without any human actions or interference. To name a few,
water, sunlight, air, atmosphere, minerals, crops, vegetation an animal habitat
are the forms of natural resources that we can find on earth. Human existence
is based on these natural resources and when they are modified for human use,
these are called human resources.
There are some resources that are the derivatives of these
natural resources. Like oxygen and wood come from trees, solar energy derives
itself from sunlight, natural wind produces wind energy and water generates
electrical energy. This article intends to shed light on the importance of
natural resources.
Essential for human
existence:
The importance of natural resources is evident from the fact
that first, they play the role of essentials for human existence, and second,
if consumed efficiently they produce other necessary resources that are
important for our wellbeing and future existence as mentioned earlier. In addition to this, natural resources are
the major driving force behind the economic development if countries. Natural
resources like coal and iron ore provide a boost
to the industrial production and transportation growth of various leading
nations including Germany and France. Similarly, natural resources like oil and
gas play a vital role in raising the economic position to sky heights.
Need for progressive policies:
The need of the hour is that all the nations should come
together on a unanimous platform and pay their share in making futuristic and
progressive policies with a focus on the smart and efficient consumption of
natural resources. This fact is undeniable that we are living in a global
village and knowing the fact, we need to have our plans foolproof for the coming years to feed our generations with enough
of natural resources and with maximized benefits to our environment. Unfortunately,
in this age of the 21st century, we have
sufficient evidence of our natural
resources being misused and desecrated while thousands of people have no access
to them. So, considering them a precious gift of the Mother Nature, we should
consume them efficiently and maintain a healthy balance by conserving our
natural resources at the same time.
